I can't play games

Is anyone having issues with steam? I know there was an update and ÂÂ*well now I get invisible windows and also ÂÂ*my games freeze for about 30 seconds or more.

I have this feeling it might not be just steam but i'm trying to eliminate it from my list. I am trying to find out whats wrong and why I can't play games because im going to die without playing Battlefield....

my first step would be to pop open task manager and monitor the cpu usage of each process when you feel it lagging- see if something spiking

if you have win7 theres more graphs for disk accesses, have you checked the steam forum?
