iw4sp.exe stoped working

I am running this game on my pc running vista, and i am experiencing alot of crashed, and this error comes up

any nice dude with a good solution ?

Are u running the game with steam or not?.
32 or 64 bit vista?.

run it without steam!! could be the problem.
U can find the multiplayer launcher in the steam/cod4 folder and link it on ur desktop;)

I am not playing MP, I am playing Co-op / spec op with a friend

And i think we need steam to connect then

Try this.
Go to steam app (v.009)
right click on MW2 and go properities.
Go Local Files Tab.
Click Verify Integrity of Game Files. Does a scan, it found 1 file bad and it resync's the MW2 games and it worked!!!! the resync takes about 10-15 mintues...BUMP this fix as many times as it takes. Finally got to ACT III after this error popped up.

Another thing that can make this game crash frequently is the sound settings Especially in vista .
Start> control panel> sound it will open a new window . Then click on speakers and another window opens . Now to to the Enhancements tab and check disable enhancements . Go to the advanced tab and lower the sound quality to 16 bit 48000 Hz (studio quality). Then apply changes and start the game.

Right click on steam select library, right click on mw2 multiplayer, select properties, click on local files and select verify integrity of game cache.

oki, have done most the stuff there, except

- i am not sure if my sound drivers are up to date
- and now i have done the resolution thing

Tested this, still crashed after a little while.

I have also recently gotten the same problem in bc2 with alot of game freezes/crash to desktop

Hmm.. Not sure what this is then.
Instal this prog: Driver Genius.Prog that looks for new drivers for your pc.
Also look for: CPUID HWMonitor.so you can see if yourpc is running hot.

My grpah card, have a heat monitor, and that is atleast not anywhere near getting hot.
I saw something today: when i start up my game, my antivirus program tells me it uses ALOT of my cpu (100 percent of oen processor)
I also reinstalled the game, can haveing the cd in the driver or not haveing it in solve anything = (i have it in now)

this is a big issue for me now

Perhaps setting back your pc a week or so?
When my pc acts up I just set the entire thing back a few days. usually fixes the problem.

it is hard to be a computer noob and try to play games i see
