View Full Version : Back in action, and a sig for p1ngo

So after a recent format and reinstall, I finally have my graphics stuff back up and running (well most of it). I asked today in TS if any graphic projects need doing, and p1ngo puts up a link to an avatar and ask if anyone can make a sig for him. So I went to work. All work was done in Adobe After Effects.

Step 1. Find a nice background to work with.

Step 2. Edit picture to suite my needs.

Step 3. Resize for forum, and add shadow for p1ngo's avatar's feet.

Step 4. Find a nice Battlefield 3 logo to put in.

Step 5. Add some nice Optical Flares to the pic to enhance the lights. For more info check out this link: http://www.videocopilot.net/products/opticalflares/

Added a Holomatrix effect to the BF3 logo for that bad reception look from the trailers, and mixed in some OG graphics and here is the final product.

Feel free to use any of the images I posted for your own work. Let me know what you guys think. I'm open to suggestions, and also willing to do graphics for the site.

Not a problem. But the "problem" is that with me being in the states, by the time I get home most of you are in bed. I don't mind helping. Maybe you can send me a pm with pics and description of what you want done and I can work on it during the week?

That's some great work with the background and the penguin but the text and the border are pretty ugly in my opinion. Border looks pixelated and standard, the text is just text with a little shadow and the OG logo is just copy + pasted. Kinda ruins the great background work imo.

As far as the border goes, it was actually my first time making one. Illistrator or Photoshop could probablly make a better one, but I'm more versed with AE than PS. The border was created by making a solid 2d layer, applying 2 rectangler mask, 1 smaller than the other, then adding a lightsweep. I can play with the expansion and feather options to see if I can get better results. Maybe trying a radial ramp instead of the lightsweep.

The text does look plain. There are lots of things I can do with that, I will have to play around and see what I can do to improve.
