1) I don't change the alignment at all. Let Windows handle it by default.
2) Turn off drive indexing.
3) In Command Prompt type powercfg -h off
4) Disable Prefetch and Superfetch in the Registry Editor, and Windows Search and Superfetch in Services.msc
5) Power Options > High Performance > Turn off display after 1 hour > Advanced > Hard disk sleep never > Turn off display after 60 minutes
6) System Restore I configure for about 10GB worth
7) Pagefile on an other hardisk
8) Install Chipset drivers and Intel Rapid Storage Technology before your first reboot.
9) Msconfig > Boot> Advanced Boot Options > Maximum number of processors
10) Turn off defrag on a schedule in the My Computer area and also in Task Scheduler
11) Now go for all driver installations, Windows Updates, etc.
