Are any of you guys planning to get the new Simcity that's coming out 8th March?

You can set up regions and have friends control the various areas in the region and share resources.

Would be cool to have an OG region :)

i got the Collectors edition i checked different with deluxe edition.

Collectors edition got 3 soort

Collect: + londen buildings
Collect: + Germany Buildings
Collect: + France Buildings

you pay for 1 of the 3 above. but why is it a collectors edition o.O

Delux edition got all 3

Awesome so we definitely have 3 players ready for the OG region with a possible 2 more in vercetti and hangover.

I've been buzzing about simcity for a while now as the original is something I invested a lot of time in as a kid.

So much so I just watched a 9 hour marathon by IGNs Greg Miller of simcity gameplay. Ã‚Â*Obviously I watched this on and off, Ã‚Â*had to catch the man utd real game. ;)

Although the city sizes are much smaller than previous versions the region play is very exciting and I think having all OG in a 15 city region is gonna be awesome.

So we need name suggestions I think of what this OG state should be called. Ã‚Â*Who is gonna set up the region?

You guys in europe will have the game a day before the UK so I guess you can set it up. Ã‚Â*Pick wisely mayor! :)

I'm going for a casino specialisation and university cities. Ã‚Â*I don't think we will get 15 unique OG members playing so we could probably take multiple cities.

I certainly hope the European release is better organised than the US one. Â*Metacritic user reviews currently stand at 3.2 out of 10. Â*However this is mainly due to EA bashing stemming from the always on-line DRM even for single player and the city size restrictions. Â*Of course the launch day server problems are also a massive f*ck up (censored for the OG academy). Ã‚Â*Hard to believe that in this age of server virtualization this problem can crop up.

I am not entirely sure what the problem is with requiring to be always on-line as my PC is pretty much always on-line as soon as it's switched on. Â*The only annoyance would be if I wanted to play SimCity on a plane or from a hotel but knowing my GF this wouldn't happen anyway.

Got damn it!! Ã‚Â*Ive been on a US VPN all day and it still wont release to me. Ã‚Â*

Oh no thinking about it they are pre authing the releases the previous day so I imagine you were able to download it today with your Dutch copy but then were able to play it with the US IP.

I guess I should be able to play it tomorrow after pre auth for the release on Friday..

0daro, when you say Unique cities are you referring to my specialization comment?

If so it is down to the new gameplay ethos to get over the small size of the city areas they now encourage players to specialise a city such as gambling, ore and smelting, oil and petrol, education etc.

I'm having a ball watching the fall out from EA's cluster fuck.

Polygon reduced there review of 9.5 then after 1 day to 8.0 today it went down to 4 due to the server issues.

Amazon US pulled there digital download after 1000+ 1star reviews.

Metacritic has a user score of 1.2

The game is actually really good though but it is fantastic to see people overreacting and try to damage EA's sales.

Funniest story I heard was there were 5 people protesting outside maxis HQ....freaking ironic awesomeness! Lol
